BSA Policy Regarding Text Messaging Between Adult Leaders and Youth Members

Please read the linked article from Scouting magazine regarding text messages and Youth Protection.  Eventhough I have spoken about this in the past, it is still going on.  Youth members in Scouting can not text Adult Leaders without including another adult in the text. The other adult can be your parent.  All the Adult Leaders in the Troop are aware of this policy.  This policy extends to Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat or any other electronic/digital media where one to one contact can take place.

2017 NYLT Course

Please see the below link for the 2017 NYLT Course, which is scheduled to take place on July 2-8, 2017 at Alpine Boy Scout Camp.  Please read all the information carefully as well as the NYLT Information Form and the Campership Form.  As in the past, if you are interested, we are requiring you pay the full amount for the course.  After you attend and complete the course, the Troop will reimburse you half the amount for the course into your Scout Account.  Going to NYLT is a big commitment of your time and your willingness to work hard.  If you are interested please contact Mike.

Your son should be at this event!

Brendan will be receiving the rank of Eagle on Saturday May 6th .

We strongly suggest that all scouts attend. Supporting Brendan on this day is something we should all do (unless you have a prior commitment). The troop will pick up the cost for all youth, but we need to know who is actually coming as the caterers need a final number, NO LATER than Monday night

Once again, We expect all scouts, who don’t have prior commitments, to be there. Full Class A uniform.

Please let Maureen know if your son is attending:maureen.sammon@pubworx.com

Thanks
